SPECIFICATIONS:
The EdgeMax Dual X Drive Cutting Machine includes the following:

  • The machine Gantry utilizes special aluminum extrusions to provide a light but extremely rigid structure.
  • The machine is driven by backlash free rack and pinion drives in both axes providing excellent motion control required for precision plasma systems.
  • EdgeMax is driven by 840 watt AC servo motors coupled to precision planetary gear reducers producing a machine motion accuracy of +\- .004″ in any 72″ area with repeatability of .004″.
  • Travel speeds are up to 1700 inches per minute, increasing your productivity.
  • The machine base is completely unitized with EZ Clean side gates providing lost part and quick slag removal without removing slat frames.
  • Special table surface skirts aid in smoke extraction and serve as slat retainers to prevent slats from moving when magnetic lifting equipment is used to load/unload table.
  • A smoke removal system including a longitudinal duct built into a side wall, cross plates to divide the table into 32″ long zones, and damper doors, one for each zone, which is actuated by the cutting machine. Only one or two doors are open at any time to exhaust smoke surface.
  • Smoke removal is effective when at least 50% of the active zone is covered. The 50% zone coverage must be biased toward the left side of the table, which contains the duct module.  Also, the plate edge should be no more than 4″ from the table side for optimum smoke collection.

Messer ‘Flex Zone’ includes the following

  • Flex Zone will allow for 14″ of cutting outside of table on the right side of machine.

Dust Collector Remote Start / Stop

  • Switches located in the operator station turn the dust collector on and off without the need to walk over to it.
  • For Customer Supplied Dust Collector (supporting schematics must be forwarded to Messer Cutting Systems) or the purchase of a Messer Cutting Systems Dust Collector.

 

 

LASER POINTER:

Laser pointer

  • The laser pointer is used by the operator to physically identify the edge of a plate by locating two points along an edge.
  • The operator activates the plate alignment routine (part program rotation). Once activated, the entire part program is offset (rotated), to the actual plate radial position.
  • Then, the part program can be activated to cut the part or nest, as if the plate were square to the machine axis.
  • This feature simplifies setup, reduces cycle time and eliminates scrap.

  • Hypertherm, Inc. warrants the power supply shall be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of two years, and the torch and leads for a period of one year from date of delivery.

One SureStop Collision Sensor

The Messer Cutting Systems SureStop magnetic torch protection system holds the torch rigidly in place while cutting.  When a torch collision occurs, the machine stops and the process is shut off, protecting the torch from related damage due to programming errors, obstructions on the cutting table and improper material positioning.

  • Permanent magnets eliminate possibility of failure; no power required
  • Magnets are unaffected by heat from thermal cutting
  • Protects torch in Z-Axis (up and down) as well as the X and Y axes
  • Resetting after a collision is reliable, consistent and takes only 5-10 seconds

Plasma Station Outlet Equipment Base Package Includes O2, Air, and N2

  • Station outlet consists of pre-assembled piping with regulators for selected plasma gases. The appropriate fittings are attached to the outlet side to mate with the Messer Cutting Systems supplied hoses
  • Station outlet to be mounted in close proximity to the X-axis powertrack entry point
  • The customer is responsible for the piping from their bulk gas supply to the inlet side of each station outlet assembly, including proper regulators at each gas source
